Timesheets are one of the rare places where it is possible to have a Quantity column with the pencil icon and a separate Note column.
Unfortunately, they cannot both be visible otherwise the system will not know which value needs to be saved.
#1: If you want the quantity and notes to be an all-in-one field, then go into Grid Management, select the required Screen, hide the "NoteOnly" and "QuantityOnly" columns, and unhide the "Quantity" column.
#2: If you want a separate Note column, then go into Grid Management, select the required Screen, hide the "Quantity" column, and unhide the "QuantityOnly" and "NoteOnly" columns.
