When creating Jobs in Upvise, the system uses a series of default rules to determine which address is applied. These defaults ensure consistency between Workbench and Upvise while allowing flexibility where job sites or contact addresses differ.
Address Default Rules
When a Job is created from a Project, the Project Address will automatically populate the Job Address.
If a Contact is selected on the Job, the Contact’s Address in Upvise will become the Job Address.
If the Contact’s Address is blank in Upvise, the Job Address will instead default to the Company’s Address.
How to edit addresses?
Scenario 1 – Project Address
The Upvise Job will default to the Project Address when created from a Project.
To change this:
Go to Workbench.
Open the Project.
Update the Site Address.
Save and resync if required.
New Jobs created from this Project will now use the updated address.
Scenario 2 – Contact Address
When a Contact is selected, the Job Address will use the Contact’s Address in Upvise.
To change this:
Go to Upvise.
Open the Contacts module.
Find and edit the Contact record.
Update the Address fields.
Save the record.
Any new Job where this Contact is selected will use this updated address.
Note: This address is stored only in Upvise and does not sync from Workbench. It is safe to edit here.
Scenario 3 – Company Address
If the Contact’s Address is blank, the Job will default to the Company’s Address.
The Company Address is synced from the Company Physical Address in Workbench.
To change this:
Go to Workbench.
Open the Company record.
Edit the Physical Address field.
Save the changes.
Allow the next sync cycle to update the Company record in Upvise.
Jobs linked to a Contact associated to this Company will now use the updated address as the default.
Summary
Default: Project Address → Job Address
If Contact is chosen: Contact Address → Job Address
If Contact Address is blank: Company Address → Job Address
Source of Company Address: Synced from Workbench Company Physical Address
Safe Edits: Contact Addresses may be edited directly in Upvise without affecting Workbench
